farm in Gardner District, about 1 1/2 mi. NE of Jasper village,
remained there
about 9 years, first 2 ch. born there. Sold farm, moved to another 3
mi. NE of
Jasper in Hampshire school district, where they remained until 1892,
when they
retired and moved to village of Jasper. On 20 Nov 1919 Mrs. Ordway
went to
live with son Franklin in Canisteo, where she died. "Both were
conscientious
Christian workers, serving in humble ways throughout their entire
lives, never
being called to official service in any conspicuous way, but leaving
a memory
for faithful humble service not to be forgotten." (F.D. Ordway,
recorded by
LWD, p. 83).
